Veggie Prom returns for a fifth year of drinking and dancing in honor of NYC’s Veggie community. People of all dietary persuasions are invited to attend the party, slated for Friday, June 6th at Fontana’s Bar in the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan. As party organizer Jessica Mahady of Veggie Prom says: “this is a chance for a compassionate community to come together to celebrate!”
In addition to drinks and dancing, the party promises to serve up free snacks, desserts, and door prizes for a lucky few. NYC’s veg DJ, Lil Ray, will keep the dance floor moving with prom classics and favorites from yesterday and today. Party-goers are encouraged to dress up in creative prom attire and vote for their favorite activists to be Prom King and Queen. Proceeds from Veggie Prom will benefit Darwin Animal Doctors. Darwin Animal Doctors provides comprehensive veterinary care for the animals of the Galapagos Islands. They are committed to saving animals, and the Galapagos.
Tickets are on sale now through the Veggie Prom website, and if there are remaining tickets, they will be available at the door ($15 advance/$20 at the door). Fontana’s Bar is located at 105 Eldridge Street between Broome and Grand Street. No date necessary to attend!
