Weight Watchers As a Vegan Update

weight watchers as a vegan header

Hey there! We’re entering our 4th week of Weight Watchers. It’s been rather interesting, thus far.

As promised, we wanted to share an update on our Weight Watchers journey, especially as a vegan. We’ve started our 4th week on the program. Correction: Carmella started the 4th week. Carlo…eh… (I’ll explain later and stop typing in the 3rd person).

First things first. here’s my progress:

Week Loss
Week 1 -3.0lbs
Week 2 -0.5lbs
Week 3 -1.3lbs

You see that?!?!! I’m down 4.8lbs since I started Weight Watchers! I feel good about it, but I know there are some things I need to work on:

  • EXERCISE! I need to get moving. I hit my fitness goals in Week 1, but slacked in Weeks 2 and 3.  A friend offered to go to the gym with me, which is great! Carlo said he’ll be going as well. I think that’s where I need the most accountability to occur for myself.
  • STOP TRYING TO EAT EVERYTHING! There’s a real challenge in sticking to daily points (I get 23). What I mean is that I sometimes have a hard time meeting 23 points and I find myself eating late to hit the number, even when I plan out my meals.
  • WEEKLIES…DON’T RELY ON THEM! Right now, I get 42 weekly points to use however I want. I can save them up for a day to splurge or spread them out for a little extra yum. I originally thought I had to use them up and could use them as a fall back. However, if I don’t need them, then I don’t need to eat them either.
  • NOTHING IS FREE! So, a lot of foods are “Free” on Weight Watchers, but being free doesn’t mean to go wild (I’ve done that). It’s about using the free to balance out meals. Seriously, how much Buffalo tofu can one eat?!?! (Don’t answer that)

So I mentioned that Carlo fell off. Well…not exactly. If you saw our Instagram or Facebook posts, he traveled out to California for the Natural Products Expo. He was working double-time for the blog and V Mark the Shop. So, of course, he already knew that he wasn’t going to be counting points for a few days. He’s back on track this week!

Now we’re in Week 4. I’m not setting any weight loss goals. I figure if I just let it happen, then it will happen.

One thing to note: I know some folks feel that Weight Watchers is full of body shaming. I don’t feel that way. Sure, there are programs who try to tell you how to look and feel. However, if you don’t feel good the way you are, and there’s something to help you get there, why not? Yes, yes, yes society has put a lot of pressure on us to be skinny minnies, but hey I just want to feel comfortable in my own body. Others do too. So don’t hate on us for wanting to lose weight, get in shape, change how we eat, etc. Let us do us and you do you.

Another note: I wont tell you what to do. I’m just sharing my own experience!

ALL RIGHT! Onto things I ate over the last 2 weeks:

More updates are coming!

Thanks for following along our journey!
